Tiwa Savage Biography And Early Age

Tiwa Savage full name is Tiwatope Savage-Balogun, she was born in Ikeja Lagos Nigeria, on 5th of February, 1980, her parents was native of Lagos State from Isale Eko in Lagos Island, Lagos State Nigeria.Tiwa Savage is a singer songwriter, and performer. When Tiwa Savage was at the age of 11, her parents relocated to London United Kingdom, she continues her education in United Kingdom.

Tiwa Savage grew in London, and she later joined her school’s orchestra band and played the trombone
for them because she love music, during this period she developed more love for music more than before.

Tiwa Savage attend University of Kent and she graduated with business administration degree, at the same time she working at the Royal Bank of Scotland, she then went to Berklee College of Music where she study and graduated with a degree in professional music

Tiwa Savage Music Career

When Tiwa Savage was at the age 16, she is doing backup vocals for music
greats like George Michael, she’s doing it for Ms. Dynamite, Mary J. Blige, Chaka Khan, Emma Bunton, Kelly Clarkson and at the same time performing with 50 cent, Eminem, Sting, The Black Eyed Peas, Destiny’s child and Robbies Williams.

Tiwa Savage later relocated to Nigeria, where she start music professional, immediately she started working with Nigerian musicians, including his former manager and husband, Tunji Balogun popularly known as “Tee Billz”

Together with Tee Billz, Tiwa Savage started a music label at called 323 Entertainment, that was how she began her music career in Nigeria.

Tiwa Savage later meet Don Jazzy where she was signed into Mavin Records, Tiwa Savage became more popular after she joined Don Jazzy’s record label.

Tiwa Savage debut studio album Once Upon a Time was released on 3 July 2013. It was supported by seven singles: “Kele Kele Love “, “Love Me (3x)”, “Without My Heart”, “Ife Wa Gbona”, “Folarin”, “Olorun Mi” and ” Eminado “.

“ This album is straight from my heart and it’s something that I’ve worked so tirelessly for. A lot of people wondered why it took me so long a time to drop my own album. That’s because we had to go through a lot of legal processes to clear some of the samples that we used, and that took us some months. Also, we wanted to work with notable producers outside the shores of the country like Oak who produces Rihanna. So, we had to work around his schedule and waited for them to have our time. But this album is something that I really took my time with because I didn’t want it to be the usual Nigerian album that contains just party tracks from the beginning till the end. ”

The album was nominated for Best Album of the Year at the 2014 Nigeria
Entertainment Awards and for Best R&B/Pop Album at The Headies 2014. Savage’s second studio album R.E.D was released on 19 December 2015. It yielded two singles: “My Darlin” and “Standing Ovation”. In June 2016, Savage signed a management and publishing deal with Roc Nation . In September 2017, she then released her debut EP Sugarcane. R.E.D and Sugarcane have both been nominated for Best Album at the Nigeria Entertainment Awards.

telecommunication giant, MTN.

Tiwa Savage Marriage

On 23 November 2013, Tiwa Savage and her former Tunji Balogun also known as Tee Billz held their traditional marriage, and they later held their white wedding on 26 April 2014 at the Armani Hotel in Dubai. On 1 January 2015, Savage and Balogun announced that they were expecting their first child together six months later she gave birth their son

In 2016, Tee Billz (Tiwa Savage’s husband) attempted to commit suicide and was rescued by some friends due to the issues he was facing at home with his wife.

This was followed by several posts online in which he accused Tiwa Savage of infidelity and her mum of witchcraft.
Tiwa on her own part later accused him of abandonment, drug addiction and financial recklessness. This was how they ending their 3 year old marriage.
